Most recently, Ms. Abrahamyan worked with teens with behavioral issues at the Abovyan Rehabilitation Center, as well as at the Satar Psychological Center. She began her career in psychology in 1996, developing psychological programs for teens for Armenian National Radio. Following her work through 1999 at the Republic Educational Center, a secondary school for teenagers with deviant behavior, she served as case-manager and psychologist-consultant for the Hot Line for Youth at the Armenian Mental Health Foundation/AMF until 2004. From 2002 and 2004, she also worked at the Maternity Fund of Armenia “Hope” Crisis Center as a psychologist and trainer, providing individual consultation to members of abused and conflicted families, and leading family therapy and youth training. From 2008 to 20010, Ms. Abrahamyan spearheaded the psychological pages for various magazines and newspapers, and lead the psychological program “The Guaranty of Success” at Abovyan TV /live. Ms. Abrahamyan-Tovmasyan, who is fluent in Russian, Armenian and English, collaborates regularly with staff to ensure that the psychological needs of each girl have been identified. She provides regular one-to-one and group psychological counseling and related educational programs for the residents. Upon her recommendation, Mer Hooys has recently equipped a unique therapy room at the Center, with a variety of innovative resources to provide the latest techniques in psychotherapy to our residents. She is married and is mother to two girls and a boy.
